Corporate Communications

Belden is proud to announce its Gold Level Sponsorship commitment to NPower Missouri’s 2nd annual Jazz IT Up virtual event, Tuesday, Sept. 29. The event will feature live entertainment from the Saint Boogie Brass Band, an inspiring keynote speaker, and stories of success and resilience from NPower alumni. The theme, “Building Brighter Futures Amidst a Pandemic”, aims to bring awareness to NPower’s mission, attract students and engage partners, volunteers, and investors.

“We are delighted to be able to support this great work as a part of our Connect with Community initiative, which was formally launched by our CEO Roel Vestjens earlier this year,” said Dean McKenna, Senior Vice President, Human Resources.

In today’s economy, over 50 percent of all jobs require some degree of technology and digital skill, and this is expected to grow to 77 percent in the next few years in the U.S. Yet, the job market is not keeping pace. Of the nearly six million jobs expected to require tech skills in the future, labor statistics project a candidate pool of only 3.2 million.

Moving just one person from a low-income job or unemployment to a successful career in technology can break the cycle of generational poverty for an entire family.

NPower is able to offer robust, tuition-free programs in Tech Fundamentals, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing and Coding by partnering with forward-thinking, innovative funders, investors, and volunteers, who can help further their impact and believe in alternative learning and career paths.
